Counselling & Psychotherapy

A few things about Deb...

Deborah (Deb) grew up in Sydney and in ’89 moved to study at Newcastle; in 1990 Deb began working as a ‘youth crisis outreach counsellor’. Since then Deborah has spent the last 30 years working her way up the East Coast in a variety of government and community agencies, training in therapeutic modalities & learning from her clients.

The last 20 years Deborah has been a thankful resident of the Noosa Shire and has found a happy balance of work and play. She has enjoyed many sports (a “Jack of all trades – master of none”); spent over 13 years DJ-ing on radio at 101.3 FM; and visits Ubud, Bali regularly to engage in mindfulness & cultural opportunities; which are often incorporated into her therapeutic sessions with clients.

Recreationally, Deborah currently sings in an acappella choir (think “Pitch Perfect” but better behaved), challenges herself with martial arts, maintains a small menagerie and spends time with family and friends. Deborah can sometimes be found with her feet in the Noosa River, sitting by a fire with a red wine on a winter’s night or enthusiastically supporting local sport-stars at a variety of venues.  Deborah is often accompanied by one or more furry companions.

A message from our practitioner - Deborah Campbell

“It’s no secret that ‘I love my work’ – the opportunity to facilitate a process whereby clients can break from a loop of trauma, anxiety, shame, depression… – and discover new ways too find joy, personal advancement and healing.

This is an exciting time to be working in the field, as the advancements in technology (ie functional MRIs) demonstrably show the impacts on the brain of trauma, depression, ADHD etc – likewise, the healing effect of therapies – ‘state of the art’ and those therapies thousands of years old.

I remain curious about our neuroscience; the understanding of the connection between the brain, the nervous system, behaviour, genetics, nutrition, experience, movement, environment, spirituality, thoughts, emotions  – and how we can individually make meaning of it all.

I personally extend a warm invitation to you to contact me at ‘Back on Track’ to experience the difference in counselling that 30years accumulation of practice & learning can offer you”.
